Over the beds in each guestroom is a wood knot by San Francisco-based artist Katie Gong. Her unique steam bending techniques allow her to challenge and develop classic woodworking practices. Katie’s designs are inspired by natural beauty and thoughtful design. Featured are two wood designs: The Knot (a nautical or ranch reference, both aspects of SLO’s landscape) and The Squiggle (referring to the silhouette of nearby mountains).
